I have worked with people with diabetes for over 32 years and see people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as gestational diabetes. I have a special interest in diabetes care and education of people with a disabilityand have developed a range of very low literacy resources to support people with an intellectual disability or acquired brain injury and their support workers. An individualised Diabetes Health Plan can be produced to guide the support workers in their delivery of contemporary diabetes care during our appointments.  A training program for support workers is available as a face-to-face option in South Australia and on-line version for further afield. There are three modules in the course covering 'Overview of Diabetes Care''Blood Glucose Monitoring' and Insulin administration and support. A manual and resources are also available to further support their care.
